Tried a family day out but wind chased us away

Finally talked my wife into a day on the lake, so we packed up a picnic and grabbed "maggie mayhem" our 3 year old miniature dachshund and headed out at 5:30 am. This was going to be our dogs first trip on the boat so we were looking forward to how she would react.

When we arrived and got to our first fishing spot the weather was perfect and by 8:30 we had caught 20 keepers along with a few short fish, some bass, catfish and a striper. Maggie was having a blast. Every time she would hear a fish we caught splash near the boat she would stick her head over the edge of the boat and follow it in then she would lick it and try to bite the tail.

Well about 8:30 we went hunting for a calm place to fish that we could catch something, but we finally gave up at about 10:30 and went home. On the way to the launch we saw a couple old geezers in a plastic boat coming out so we gave them our fish. They were extremely happy about that. When we got home we spread a sleeping bag on our deck and enjoyed our picnic and a little sun. Fishing day was cut short, but we had a fun day.
