Crappie.com - Chickamauga Lake 3-29 & 30-2013 "Limited Out"

Yesterday Grayson, Stephen and myself fished. Once again we got 3 limits of Crappie. WooHoo!

The water temp. was still 50*. We drift fished and trolled mostly. All enoyed reeling in fish. The catch ratio was not as good as the day before. Thursday we caught 59 with 45 keepers. Friday we had to catch 74 before limiting out.

Before I get called on the carpet..Grayson caught the big fish. A 14-1/2" TARP Crappie Thursday. Plus a quality size 24" Alabama Smallmouth. Picture attached. That also leveled the playing ground as far as the big fish bet.

Today Grayson could only fish until lunch. What does he do? First thing in the morning he hauls in a 15" TARP Crappie. Picture attached. I could not catch a fish. We only had 7 keepers in the boat. Grayson wins the big fish bet again.

At lunch we dropped Grayson back off at the ramp. Archie and I thought of a place we had not tried. Good thought. From 1:00pm until 2:00pm we caught 23 keepers. Ended the day catching 43 with 30 keepers.

Best colors were Devils Grin and Chartruese/Bone BGBS on a 1/16 oz. jig. Straight lining.

Spent most of the day trying to stay out spanish armada of boats on the lake. Fished several spots and they all produced fish. The thing they all had in common was deep water. All my fish came from 12-15 ft deep and they were right on the bottom. Pink jig heads tipped with a minnow were the bait of choice. Tried different color bodies throughout the day and the plain jig head out fished them all. Ended up with a limit and a few really nice ones.
