Heard only 1 in area I usually hunt which is disappointing. Checked on other sites. Distant gobbling.
Went by lake and saw buddy fishing so stopped to visit. He was ketchn but not much size. It's close to where I fish so decided to go somewhere different when we went.
Went back to cabin Ben needed meter to check elements said I would get one from neighbor.
We went to different spot and they weren't in spawning spits so headed for a bit of structure I've had success in past. Pretty good walk along water but made it and tossed my little jig w spinner on it and KABOOM HAPPENED. caught a good poo ne, then another, then another. That was throwing out about thirty feed and simple retrieving it. Then on next didn't hit it out farther but as I got near shore WHAM a dark male attacked it. Thumbnail tossed short distance and BOOM again good one hit couple feet off shore. Ended w 6 good ones there.
Buddy called found out where I was and told me to go to this flat rock next to where I parked and cast toward a object did and picked up few more.
Then saw some vegetation near shore threw beyond it and as I reeled in BOOM happened. Called Ben over and had him b takeover spot and he caught 6 really good spawners there. Had him come to another spot and he caught several more.
Guy was there from close to LSL and wanted to fish it. So took hus number and will have him over.
By then i had my limit and Ben was close and he wanted to chk out water heater. Called my neighbor and he came over and had two smart guys working on it and they replac3d elements. Hot water again. Gave neighbor big bag o filets and Ben had to go and he took bunch.
Then neighbor who had been out picking morels invited me over for morel resoto and fresh crappie. ANOTHER MOUND MIRACLE! Life is good!
Even better another buddy stopped by picked up bucket o crappie so didn't have to clean as many!
