Decided to fish Da Bayou Lacombe Louisiana on Saturday.
This time of year when fish are in transition. Some finishing up their spawn, some starting to spawn and others getting ready to spawn. One must be ready to change plans if the original plan does not pan out. We launched at 10 am after the rain stopped at Main St. Yes parking was down the street and Yes there was another Bass Tournament happening on Da Bayou. The water was slightly high, muddy from rain last night and falling hard. Water temp was 67 f.
The plan was to take my Bride and my grandson out to try and catch some big bream on beds with green worms. Headed north all we caught was very small bream. Decided to head south and try our luck with the elusive Sacalait. Bass anglers everywhere but was pleasantly surprised how friendly and boat speed conscious they were. Found a few today and ended up keeping 7. All keepers were over 10 inches and 2 were right at 12 inches. I played boat guide today and my Bride and Austin caught all the fish. Weather turned out to be beautiful and we enjoyed our day on the water together. The big bass caught in the tournament today was a nice 4 pounder.
Another Paw Paw Adventure in the books.
Bon Temps!!!
