• 14Ft or Deeper

I hit the Jourdan River today to see numerous other Crappie Anglers pounding the banks. As I moved around most were fishing shiners 2ft under a cork. Since I was catching fish I didn't fish where others could see what I was doing. I kinda feel bad as I told fellow CDC member P-Nut that was a good plan where he was going fishing today. I hope he had better luck than the long faces on the guys I watched fishing. All the quality fish in the box were over 14ft deep. If I fished 9-11ft I didn't catch even a small keeper, 12-14ft I had to weigh having fish to fry or not with the keepers from that depth, the fish over 14ft deep I had to get the net. BGBS (Bobby Garland Baby Shad) in Eclipse did the catching. I also saw several schools of small Crappie in 18-20Ft of water moving up river. A good sign since the Saltwater Intrusion damage happened last Fall.

Is that Jourdan River Bay St Louis Jourdan River?? I’ve always wondered how far North of i10 bridge to get crappie. I’ve got a bunch of speckled trout around gar lake just below the i10 bridge in the winter.
