Well folks the new year is upon us , the youngest was ill for about a week plus at Christmas and then , you guessed it, now it's mom and dads turn .....
Nonetheless life goes on and we are not the lay down types anyway , mostly coughing and a sore throat , no fever , just not happy ....
We stayed the course and did some black-eyed peas and cornbread New Years day and then of course "someone" said we have to get up and move, we been laying around for weeks on end it seems ....
We put the whatever dessert thingee in the frig. per the instructions and THEN ....
The wife says we have to go walk the dog ? I was in the excuse me mam , it's 40 degrees with a nice north wind and overcast and THAT will not be fun ...
It was 2 against 2 though , the dog wanted to go as well and in the end it was a tie on the vote .
As we still tried to talk mom and the dog out of it , it was obvious that wasn't going to happen so....
I said ok ok ok , then let me get my extreme light rod and we will hit the dog park with ponds in it ....
Off we went and let me say this about that , it was NOT fun , really quite cold , fish were almost impossible to ketch , first pond one peck and a 3 inch bluegill came up , second pond was lots better though , but the bluegill were still mostly tiny things .
Managed to ketch about a dozen total sunfish and 2 or 3 were a bit on the better side ,size wise , but in the end it was just too cold for us to stay , about 45 minutes and the light was trying to fade and out came mr. big beaver and that was the signal to move on ....
Dessert time was also calling our names and that my friends is my New Years Day story ....
KABOOM is the word
p.s. a float set at 3 foot deep , a number 10 1/84 jighead and a white crappie nibble with a 1/4 inch of worm ,right beside a floating mat of vegetables was king ....just saying
