Neighbor of mine at LSL wanted to go to my cabin and see how we renovated an abandoned place and learn how to fish for crappie. Hadn't been fishing for many years and he Is retired.
So we get to one of my favorite places and I instruct him on brush fishing and ketchn. Well I start right in ketchn as usual but he isn't and is getting hung up. BUT after while and with encouragement KABOOM hits him and we both start ketchn and some really good ones.
We had fabulous morning and not quit when we had a mess. Time for lunch and a break.
Then NY son who was with us but slept in wanted to go so I told him where to go. He texted after while had been ketchn but not many keepers. So dad came and pointed out where to drop and suddenly he was ketchn keepers and filled his bucket.
Then my buddy Ben and I hit some bridge piers for different experience but the rip rap was scary. We did get down and both started ketchn on this different lake. We both landed some real big ones and it was fun. But we were tired so had enough.
Most of morning ketch went to neighbor who stopped by. Then we ate a big mess of what remained plus bunch for son who would come home later.
My bud loves what we have done tonplace and great views plus looking up at milky way last night was epic.
Ben held his own and now has great grasp of ketchn crappie. Now he will b prowling docks of our home lake. Great couple days and wonderful to share with a friend.
