Bought got hammered a few times and then it became clear it was time to go ,these types of summer ish squalls move right fast and furious in these parts .
got lightly rained on twice and then the light show on the next storm and its quick approach made us say this about that , we got more fish in the box than we want to clean and it's been 2 1/2 hours of overcast, cool and cloudy ,with a nice slight breeze for the most part ....(dont get much better) btw ...
fisheez were on fire at every stop from 4 fow to 20 fow and could care what you pitched at them ....
so lets run it to the rampola and get out a dodge before it really hammers us.
here are the particulars of said excursion , first fish to the boat was a channel cat ...
Lots of ditch pickles and a few bream came to hand as well in the mix on regular basis at every stop , not a terribly high number of small throw back crappie fish in the mix ,maybe around 50 % toss backs and used lots of different colors and jigs ...
THEY would NOT touch a black jig though ?
Used a fixed float on the flats in 4 to 9 fow , fish liked the jig moving and or dancing a bit , ran a 1/16 in the deeper water no float and a 1/32 under the float .
Iced 20 for me and the captain of said trip kept 16 ....would have probably been lots more fish if my buddy H could have gotten dialed up , but he struggled hard for some reason to get bit ?
all in all it was really nice not to sweat it out , it was 90 something when we headed out and when we got there it was in the high 60 to low 70 range .
KABOOM is the word yawl ....
