• Brrrrrrr Said the Fisherman

I only get the weekends off so I don’t choose the weather, I just go and report what happened. So I decided to try the turkeys on the lake this morning and it was as crowded as I remembered it lol. Can’t wait until I can afford 150 acres of my own to hunt own…anyhoo the crappie were downright ROWDY. I truly was not prepared for any bite at all.. much less the best one I’ve had all week. I had three 1/16 oz jigheads in the boat..so my plan was to fish until those were gone. Well I didn’t start until 10:00 and I was finished by 1. The fish were chasing my bait today (ain’t seen that in a stretch..) the wind was laid down so I could get in and work. Just goes to show you that just because it’s “supposed” to be slow doesn’t mean the fishing gods can’t throw us a bone from time to time.

    Water temp (lower end) -60°
    Color- stained
Presentation - Vertical 1/16oz 1.5” mermaid style bait. Diff colors.

uneverknow until you go. WTG that's how you do it. don't let the weather or wind keep you from wetting a line. I've had some great days when others stayed by the fire and conditions were awful but the fish didn't care.
