Crappie.com - Great ketchn then Shore dinner

My buddy Charlie wanted to get out so I said let's hit the early spawn on the power plant lake. I had whacked them from bank but we knew of a out of the way àrea that is our happy place. We put his not in the water and headed out. Now you need to know this a narrow John boat with hand controls and he likes a trolling motor next to him in back and it's awkward as heck and I'm doing continuous balancing act as my skinny butt doesn't offset his easily.

We took off plowing thru white caps as he had unforeseen issues with it and we missed the pristine early conditions and now face howling winds.

Barely made it to our place but once there it was nice. Tho gusts would still make it thru and push us around. We picked up some nice ones along edges several with tuxes on but not right up to bank. Then Charlie hit a nice 17 inch keeper bass. While we were jigging g in down timber.

Storm clouds threatened and we heard lot of thundand it started raining lightly so we Decided to make a break for put in but as we started I saw a couple brush in water and couldn't stand it so we went there.

As soon as we got near I tossed my jig in air but had no idea where it was when realized it was in water kaboom! Biggest crappie of day was on it. Then I pitched to a shrub hanging in water and KABOOM suddenly pulled one in after another like 10. Then I had Charlie take off his stupid bobber and hit the spot and he pulled in several. It was like they turned on with the storm.

Best part was storm passed! It was nice again. We did quick count and had our limits. So we hightailed it back to dock.

Then it was time for FRESH FISH DINNER. CHARLIE had brought scalloped potatoes and made Cole slaw.

Forecast was scary but turned out to be incredible day.
