• Lazy mans way to Livescope...

So I'm playing around setting up the new old boat, and come across a couple cool things. I used a Crappie Stalker from Driftmaster to Livescope the lazy mans way. I have clear waters here where I fish, and I'm using a 16 ft. long BnM PST to reach out to the feesh. I got tired of always holding the pole so the Crappie Stalker is perfect for holding the pole for me. I can reel up or down as necessary, and I can pick it up in a flash. I like this first idea.

Second idea. I had a spot to install the livescope right next to the drivers seat on the boat. I figured I'd move it once I knew where all I'd be setting things up. So hmm, with the livescope transducer in the middle of the boat I noticed something. I could find my bait lots easier. The beam was wider (than when having the transducer at the bow), and also, I was able to use the trolling motor itself like a rifle sight. I have a remote to turn the livescope left and right (some may have seen my motorized contraption which I posted about earlier this year). I turn the livescope so i just barely see the terrova head on the screen, and then it's easy peasy to drop the line down just to the right of the trolling motor and see the jig. I also use a double rig jig setup now, which helps even more. I am set baby!

Another thing the Crappie Stalker lets me do is: I can swing the rod way right, and fish 16 ft off the side of the boat while moving fast (1.2 mph) though the water to locate feesh (whilst watching my bait on the screen as well). Then I can slow down, move the rod forward, and target'em. Love it.
