• Too nice not to go

It was too nice of a day not to go. I hooked up early and headed out. Got to the ramp and fell in line to launch. I heard my name called out and I looked up to see skeetbum there in line ahead of me. We checked notes and headed out.

It was on the cool side this morning and we had a slight breeze. I put on the jacket. We got to the "hot spot" and set out the lines. The wind was a bit stronger out on the open water. I set up to work with the wind. It moved me out of the area quite quickly. I bumped up the trolling motor and made a return trip.

I did this 4 or 5 times before I got tired of fighting with the wind. But I can't complain. The rods were bending and I got to use the net several times. By now I had put on the wind breaker as well to cut down on the chill factor. And the chop was getting to be an issue. I pointed the bow towards the ramp.

I got back to the ramp right behind Skeetbum.

I had 9 fish in the box and one was my personal best ... 15 inchs and 2.1 pounds.

What a great day it was.

    Until next time:

    Tight lines and full nets

    See you on the water

    Jim

It's not always pleasant this time of year but can be productive and much better than sitting on the couch. WTG
