Search and seizure was eventually rewarded after hours of wandering around. The St. John's(Astor) ramp access is wide open with water speed noticable for sure.
L/l'g & S/r'g @the same time by myself was easy-peasy...until I found 'em. All 1/16 oz 2"curlytails were used, except for two Bass Assassin straight-tail tiny shad. All lures were fished "bare-back" with no Slab secret sauce(aka chew-goo/chum-gum). Top producers in the color dept. were Bubble-gum and Wildcat, both w/chartreuse tails. Speed was 1.0 - 1.2, w/t 65.3*. 90% of fish were caught l/l'g, my s/rg'd lures had 3/8 oz. egg-sinker 14" above lure. Started picking up throwbacks and the the party started. 32 Crappie caught/22 kept biggest 14"
Cooler-shot was made 1/2 way through the trip. Roe development was about 70% mature(imho). Nasty wind element-2 's made me the ONLY rig launched! Very satisfied from the trip/travel and one-armed paper hanger "exercise". Thx. goes out to Slab for his Geek-skills in helping with my phone/computer glitch/incompetence(it used to work, Ed, really!) Go get ya some-
Hopefully, to help those compromised with the BAH HUMBUG syndrome, I'm attaching an unbelievable pic(poor doggie) that I saw on the news this morning..
