I’ve used Slab Sauce on jigs since day one. I always have it in my boat within reach. I see these commercials for sticky attractants that walleye guys use on their trolled stick baits. I just never put it all together until I saw BillBob ask for some SlabSauce for his cranks on Enid Sunday.
We were trolling Picos and a couple off brand cranks behind Off Shore OR12 boards over lots of crappie that were not cooperating. Ted started spraying some SlabSauce on the cranks on his side. Soon after, he was watching both boards back up with crappie hooked. Mrs Buckeye Crappie was tasked with reeling them in which she did with much more skill than most beginners.
It didn’t take long for all 4 cranks behind the boards to get a SlabSauce shower. The result was the same! Soon these folks were working me to death!
I’m always open to new tricks. I know what my tired eyes saw. Putting the SlabSauce on the cranks made all the difference on this trip on this lake on this day.
I don’t say this because Slab was sitting to my right in the boat. I’ve heard of similar results from others. I have to say I might have heard “I told you so!” But don’t remember who said it.
Made a believer out of me!
