It was a hot crappie bite this morning for Gary, aka Biofisher, and I as it was 78 degrees at 6 am when we launched the boa in a heat wave. Our intention was to fish hard until nine am and put the boat back on the trailer. Mission accomplished.
I love it when a plan comes together and works almost like you would expect it to go. We caught 10 keepers and one white bass and a couple of short crappie. Gary caught our lone bluegill. All fish were caught 20 feet or deeper. We had 3 fish that were 13”, and 3 that were 12 or better and the rest were 10” keepers. I caught a 13” White crappie which is the first white crappie that I have caught in a while. Black crappie are the predominant species of crappie on our lake.
Lights Out, Monkey Milk, and Blue Ghost were the colors that the fish bit today. All on 3=32 oz jig heads. We had a beautiful moon set this morning at 6.
