• It was a dinky kind of day

Well after almost 2 inches of rain yesterday and rumors of successful spider rigging, I tossed the long poles back in my boat and headed to Everharts.

It took me an hour or more to finally get all 8 rods out because the bite was hot right off the bat. I tossed a couple 9" back early. Might have pulled a limit otherwise. Lots of dinks, but they kept me busy and I prefer it that way.

The smell out there last night was as fantastic as the sunset!

I tried a few spots but 30-33fow @ ~16' seemed to be the sweet spot. Half way back in a creek and above flooded timber.

Luckily Everharts was generous with the minnows. I ran out of minnows just as I lost the light and the bite. The timing was great.

I've been practicing with the Blackstone. Seems skin on is the way to go, although scaling takes a bit longer and makes a mess.
