I was on the water and casting by 7:00 this morning. Air temp was a little cool, but the water had definitely warmed since I was out a couple of weeks ago. In the first 20 minutes I boated 6 and I thought Hot Dang ! It slowly fizzled from there. I did finish the morning with 10 crappie boated, 1 small Largemouth and a very nice Rainbow that went a good 16". I passed on the trout pic. Stocker rainbows seem to have high mortality after being caught and I wanted him to have every opportunity to make it. Being he was caught in the lower lip, he did take off like a rocket when released and never showed back up on the surface. When I hooked him I knew it wasn't a crappie. Between the violent head shakes and ripping drag it was fight on. The icing on the cake was that all of them were taken on jigs I tied. That was a great feeling.
