• Kissimmee Chain Report From a Newbie

Hello folks. I'd like to say I have been lurking around this site for quite some time and thought it was time to contribute. I look forward to adding what little bit I know to this great forum.

I live in Polk County and headed over to the Kissimmee Chain for a few days of fishing with my Dad and a longtime friend. Started out Monday morning looking for fish out of that wind. Our first stop yielded 2 small fish and we moved to a little deeper water and found 8 or 10 fish and all were decent fish, 10.5"-13". Fish had lockjaw after that so we tried some long lining and picked up 3 more fish that were in 10-12fow. By that time it was 130 or so and we called it a day. It was time to get out of that wind. The following day we decided to fish the same area but had much better results. We ended up with 40 or 50 and kept maybe half of those. Decided to go again today and we seem to have found the fish in about 6-8 fow and it was one right after the other. I don't usually keep too many fish but my Dad and friend only get out once a year so we kept a BIG mess. Just finished cleaning everyone of them myself. Sorry I didn't take many pics but managed to get one of our catch from yesterday and today combined.

Water temps were mid 60's to upper 60's
Wind was mostly NNW and turned to NE by today
Airtemp was cool in the morning lower 50's and warmed to upper 60's by mid day
Fished with jigs, long lining and a few minnows.

    Tight lines folks.
