Got a PM from "sandwich maker" and he told me about his next fishing trip and asked if I was interested in joining him to fish for crappie. I seized the opportunity to meet one of our members and met him at the ramp at the end of White Rose Rd.
I'm doing a stretch here by posting a photo only because he did catch the only fish and all I could do was wear out my Watermelon Wine jigs. I thought it interesting to meet a man that fished with his own hand tied jigs and they were very well tied jigs with some great color combos.
The weather was beautiful, the wind died down to nothing and it warmed up nicely to enhance a great day to fish. The bite was very slow, and not in places previously productive. We talked briefly prior to launch but suspended the talk until after the fishing was done.
After several hours of me trying to catch and him catching, we took a break and got better acquainted. I was astonished to learn where he was from and that we had a mutual acquaintance. Small world when you think about it sometimes.
We agreed to meet again to catch more fish and get better acquainted. Thanks "sandwich maker" for the opportunity to field test some of your jigs and the samples of your handiwork were most appreciated. I'm looking forward to another fishing trip and doing my part to fill the cooler.
