Was able to get out on the lake yesterday. My daughter wanted to go fishing and soon as we got there she said she wanted to swim. So I talk her into fishing for a little bit first and then we can throw rocks instead of swimming she agreed. We fished for a bit and had one keeper and a few shorts then went to throw rocks for a while. After throwing rocks, I wanted to fish a point for a few minutes before we went back to the ramp. In 20 minutes we had 5 keepers and 11 shorts off the spot. She had a blast reeling in the fish and measuring them. She was ready to go home and eat as it was about dark so we left the fishing bitting.
Lures of choice were BG itty bitty slab hunter in lights out and a trout magnet in bison on a 1/32 oz light wire jig. Water temp was 64-66 degrees. All keepers were caught in 8-12 ft of water. Find where the skip jack are chasing the shad and you will find the crappie right there as well.
