It all started many years ago when families fished not only for enjoyment but to survive. One of my earlier memories was watching my Grandmother (Momma) and Papa go down to the creek with cane poles and dug up worms. They would catch fish, clean the fish (No Filleting back then) and then Momma would cook the fish for supper. This picture shows my Momma, Aunt Lillian, and me fishing in our favorite fishing hole.
Here is a closer picture of Momma and Aunt Lillian.
The next picture shows my Daddy (J.C. Hobbs), Uncle Lewis, and me in the background at our house. Notice the cane poles leaning against the house.
This picture shows me and Uncle Lewis fishing from the bridge at our favorite fishing hole.
Later on we moved to Union Hill community in Bleckley County. This picture show me
showing off some Blackfish/ Mudfish that I caught at little river. I was proud of those big fish.
The economy was improving, Daddy worked at Robins AFB and Mother at L and H Shirt Factory. We would take a few trips to Cedar Keys in Fl. I’m on the dock looking at the water.
This shows Mother, Daddy, and Uncle Bud fishing for speckled trout.
Time passed and rather that today’s computer and video games, I was interested in softball and girls so there was a time I kinda lost interest in fishing but later on started Bass Fishing. These pictures show a few bass from the Ocmulgee River.
When the bass were not biting, I convinced Chuck Little to go Mudfish fishing. This string weighed 68 pounds and came from Ocmulgee River. We weighed the fish on Deer Scales.
I even fished with Bleckley County Bass Club
Often we would go Bream fishing in Spring Lake off the Ocmulgee River. We would pull the boat thru the swamp to get there. Great Fishing!
Then, we would even go White Perch fishing at Lake Eufaula.
Later on in life, a little girl came in our lives. This shows my daughter, J.J., with her first fish.
Unfortunately did not take many other pictures of J.J. Fishing.
Then couple Grandsons came along, this shows Brooks Jones at Uchee Trail Golf Course.
We even caught catfish.
Then we went to Lake Sinclair for more good times.
Check out that Smile
Then came Tucker Jones “Tuckman”
This shows Tuckman at Uchee Trail Golf Course and neighbor’s pond.
Now we finally get to fish together. Here are some at Lake Talquin in Florida.
Lastly, I would like to these fishermen for being my friends over the years.
