I fished Sunday for the first time in a couple weeks and decided to return to 8 mile creek. I looked at the bridge off CR 1352, but it didn't look any better so I returned to CR 1422. That cliff (small hill really) hasn't gotten any better. I fished the first couple hours with very little luck, but finally found an area with fish stacked up in about 14 feet of water. I tried a little bit of everything, but best bait ended up being a 1/32oz roadrunner head with a 1" Pink/Chartreuse body Slider fished single pole with a slow retrieve 8 to 10 foot deep. Once I found the right combination it was one fish after another, but most were under 9". I kept a limit of Crappie that were between 9 1/2 and 10 1/2 inches and returned a couple hundred short fish. Great day on the water.
Visibility was about 18 inches and 78 degrees at daylight.
