We haven’t been in a while. She’s now driving and doing very well in cheer competitions so it isn’t easy to get our schedules to connect. We got lucky today with everything except the starting temp of 51*. Now to some of you that isn’t that cold. Add to the temp a starting wind of 11 and building to 16 plus and being mostly in the shade, it’s a bit cool for us. Just bummed about on the river enjoying the time together and didn’t find many good fish for an hour and a half, then some of the bigger ones seemed to begin moving. First came a nice 8” Gill. Doesn’t sound like much but when you’ve been fooling with four inchers, some even less, 8” is pretty nice. We were moving from one area to another with the TM and I was dragging my jig when it got thumped. First good crappie of the day, just under 12”. Way better fight too. Switched sides and found an area a little deeper and another thump. Then Cam got thumped. Until I got distracted and blew in too close we caught fish. Cam got 3 on 3 casts. At the most we caught a dozen crappie, but only two were babies. The rest could have been invited to dinner but we pitched em back. Several of the bluegill we caught could have donated their fillets as well. We were having a good time! Started getting towards lunch, manatees came by a couple of times, and we were both just plain hungry. We wrapped up, put it on the trailer and went looking for lunch. I couldn’t have had a better day and I think Cam was overdue for some pawpaw time and enjoyed herself as well. Looking forward to the next time, maybe we’ll see you there. Raise a hand and say hello. Til then....... Skeet
