Pretty much never fails to produce really nice bluegills
got there about 11:30 am and quit about 12: 30 pm for lunch .
went swimming for about 2 hours after lunch and went back to finish what we started about 3 pm until 4 pm and then down the trail we went .
left with around 25 or so big ole bluegill.
the colorations were all over the map .
the fish were holding 8 to 14 feet down in 12 to 16 foot of water .
they bit worms and crappie nibbles on bare jigs and bucktails on 1/32 number 8 sickle hooks .
sure was fun on our ultralites , they pull like trains on 2 to 6 lb test and real light rods and reels .
the kid smoked mom and me on big fish and after our swim and lunch i stepped up and really hurt them
did ketch one small bass in the mix and probably 30 or so smaller bluegills .
tomorrow i will fillet them and we will have fresh fish for dinner .
they went straight on ice
good times for sure
