One of my favorite songs has a second verse that goes something like this...
Started out this morning feeling so polite
I always thought a fish could not be caught who wouldn’t bite
But you’ve got some bait a waitin and I think I might try nibbling
A little Afternoon Delight!
Well I always thought that song was about something else but turns out it is just about fishing after lunch..[emoji16]
That is what I did today, talked a few fish into biting and even used a few nibbles.

The 4lb Yellow Braid was used on a nice piece of graphite, and Bobby Garland Baits were on the menu. Now in the afternoon I fish shade. Shade from steep bank bluffs, Bridge pier shade, and dock shade. It where they tend to hang, and it’s cooler on me.

1/32 lite wire jigs fished deep in the above mentioned haunts payed off. First keeper was a hoss.

I would call it a TARP, a squeaker maybe, but a nice specimen nonetheless. His twin brother was home also.....dang almost a double.

Did I mention it was hot? 92 on the truck when I launched and the water temps were averaging 85-87 in the shade, with no wind. But anyway I finished the evening shooting a few docks and secured enough for a good mess to join me for the ride home.

The board pics feature the better fish.

As it got dark I could hear the Starlight Band singing about Sky Rockets that were in sight, and it was an Afternoon Delight!
