Verified that we had a three T.A.R.P. evening! That would be three fish over 14”! The downside of that was that we just couldn’t get on numbers. We hunted and scanned, and scanned and hunted. We saw plenty of fish on the graphs, but they were being finicky! Because of time limits, we didn’t do our normal “run n gun.” The water was stained to muddy, around 60 degrees, and at or near summer pool. That meant lots and lots of floating logs, trash, etc....another reason that we avoided running around. The fish that we caught hit like a freight train, and provided some drag squealing fun!
We need to fish more, but since March 1st we have been distracted by this feller!
We have also spent a lot of time working at our new social distancing sanctuary. I’ve spent some time chasing Gobblers, with nothing to show for it. My calls sound like an asthmatic buzzard!
The creek that runs through our place has also been a distraction!
With all of that being said, you always return to your first love! Crappie fishing is what I love, and what I’m going to do! Can’t wait to get back out there!!
