The hospitality continues. If you seen Volume III you know I said: The hospitality of of Crappie.com members across this country is second to none.
And yes, as we traveled across the country it certainly did continue.
We arrived at the campground on Okatibbee Lake. The site was already paid for, and the grease was already hot. ScottV had us all set up. Just needed to crack a cold drink and enjoy the fish fry. And on top it all, Scotty had COBBLER! Unbelievably good fish, as fresh as could be, plus fried Okra and Hush Puppies. I think we gained weight on this trip for sure!
And on top it all, I caught Crappie. The funny thing is, all along the way of this trip, I did catch a lot of fish, but no crappie. For whatever reason, weather, unavailability of boats or time, I did not fish a lot. Billbob got out, caught lots of crappie, but I did not. But here, from the shore, I caught a bunch of crappie in the shallows. Even Billbob caught some. It was a lot of fun, and a great way to cap off our fishing adventure. Thanks for the food and the memories Scotty.
So, on the way back to Florida we decide to stop and visit Orville. He lives outside of Mobile Alabama, and I'm following the Garmin pulling a 5th wheel. WHEN ALL THE SUDDEN, we're downtown Mobile looking at driving into this tunnel, when all the sirens go off, traffic everywhere is stopped, lighted signs are saying STOP! DO NOT ENTER.
It was unreal, the Garmin was sending up into a tunnel where we were not supposed to go, and there was no way around it now! A loud voice came over a loudspeaker that said "TURN RIGHT". Well, I'm pulling a 5th wheel and there's a matter of this fence in the way. I'm thinking "That's easier said than done".
Well, after some analysis, and maneuvering, I managed to get off that particular road. Wasn't as bad as I thought, heck, all traffic everywhere was stopped anyway! lol - You can ask Billbob about this. He kinda freaked! Had to stop at the nearest rest room for him, no lie! Poor gewber.
So we finally got to the right place. Finally got to see Orville and his new friend the Basset Hound named Annabelle. Very cool dog, always looked you right in the eye, and very friendly.
We visited Orville's shrimp boat. And we even got to take some shrimp home too. We had it at my Moms house for Easter Dinner. Thanks Orville, great to see you again.
Billbob even enjoyed our traditional egg fight with mom! He lost btw! lol
And when we got back to Florida gewber even had time to catch a few with Shuorc.
It was another great trip Billbob. Always a pleasure to cruise the Crappie.com country with you visiting all our friends.
And when the Gewber left, Abbey wanted to go with him. This is one of the last pics of her, may she rest in peace. I'm gonna miss that dog.
