We got there on Friday and you could not ask for a more beautiful day to be on the water. We fished until 1:30 and caught some real good fish. There was hardly a ripple on the water. We caught a ton of small fish but they were worth wading thru to get to the larger fish.We caught good fish between 1.5 and 1.75 lbs. This fish was 2 lbs and 1 oz and was the largest we caught on Friday:
Here are a couple of 2 lbers out of TnT's boat
Saturday morning we woke up to a breezy morning and cool in the 50's.Weather.com forecasted 9 mph winds at 7:00 up to 16 mph winds by 10:00...Sure seemed like more than that on the lake. We pulled out of Lake Talquin Lodge around 6:40. Most of the morning pics didn't come out too good but here are a few:
I had some motor problems going out and was a little late getting to where I wanted to fish and this is what the water was looking like at 7:15....
Here are some pics of the anglers fishing in the windy conditions:

And then of course the Hot Dog lunch, while awaiting a phone call from Speckanator, went over real well and Thanks to Lake Talquin Lodge for providing the Hot Dogs and to all the people behind the scenes that helped set things up...Then the fish fry on Saturday night. I hate to name any names because I don't want to leave anyone out, but I was fishing while they were slaving away at the Crappie Shack preparing the meal.
But LWH and Heavylead did an outstanding job as usual on frying the fish!!
For the time being, Lake Talquin will hold the Crown for "The Big Fish Throwdown". We have all enjoyed the fellowship on Crappie.com for the last month and I know both lakes enjoyed the fellowship that was shared this weekend. A special Thank You to Slab for the shirts that was provided for both lakes. They were really nice shirts and we really do appreciate them!!
