Well, we had to turn the lights on to run back to the ramp...could’ve used some lights to load the boat on the trailer, but that would further increase my license fees, taxes, or both. We got a late start due to a visit from our daughter, but still had about 1.5 hours to fish. You gotta go when you can! Water temps have dropped further, as we found 70-72 degrees in the areas that we explored. The first stop showed good potential based on the info given to us by Lowrance, but alas, just a bunch of little peckers! The peck, peck, peck as soon as the jig hit the water explained the Lowrance screen. It’s a rare thing for those smaller Bluegill to get one of our #2 hooks in their mouth, so they peck away and pull down the skirt! Off to the next spot, and the Lowrance lit up again. The difference? This is what we were looking for! For about ten minutes, it was on! I love it when that happens, but it never lasts long enough for me! Especially this Friday night, because she smoked me like a slab of ribs! My explanation was that I expertly navigated to get her in the perfect spots......no she didn’t buy it! It was fun and relaxing, and only gonna get better. We even kept some eaters!
