Good afternoon. I wanted to share my report.
Weather was 30 low / 48 high / wind said 3 mph (I forget the direction)
Got to the bridge pylon at roughly 5am (still dark). People were lined up all on the banks, but not one boat! It was sweet! Had the entire spot to ourselves.
I rigged up and set out to tight line minnows and cast a double-jig rig with 1/32 oz heads (Chart / Pink heads).
The water there is 27 feet deep. We were seeing bait fish all around us in the channel, so I set 3 poles at different depths. I had my slip cork set at 10 (not one bite), I had my other set at 12 (which got most of the Crappie) and I set the other to 15 (which got a few). So many they were hanging at 12-15 ft. And get this, not one bite on the jigs. No matter the color. They just wanted the smallest minnow you could grab. All in all it was a great day! God held the weather back and answered my prayers. The guy I was fishing with I met off of Facebook in our group and he caught his first SLAB! It was so much fun!
Thanks for letting me share this memory. Pics below. Look at those moose lips top right fish. Man, she felt like a catfish!
