• No Bananas Guide Service - Sardis Mississippi

Well, it's not really "No Bananas Guide Service". I thought it was when I first read the decal on the center console. But as Carl explained the "No Bananas" thing to us, I think he really meant it! Bringing Bananas on the boat was bad luck and he wasn't going to have anything to do with that! We were looking to catch some slabs, and he was gosh darn serious about doing just that.

That's Carl (Feelay on the Crappie.com forum). He's a great guy and like I said, serious about catching lots of slabs. That's a slab he's holding. He just makes it look small cause he's a big guy.

Check out the following pictures. We killed'em. This was undoubtedly one of the most successful fishing trips I've done "quality wise" in a long long time. We had 31 over 12 inches long, which happens to be the size limit here on Sardis.

Billbob holding a nice relatively rare (for Sardis) Black Crappie.

    These fish are pigs.

Look at this SLAB, over 16 inches long. WOW

Orville was fishing nearby with Cray. Orville's boat is almost identical to Carl's boat, the boat we were fishing on. A super nice and roomy center counsel Ranger boat.

The fish just keep coming. What a riot! Any fisherman would absolutely love catching these. If you accidentally let them go sideways on you, they pull like a freight train. You have to really work it right not tangle up in the other lines.

Spider Rigging with monster 3 inch shiner monnows.

Now there's some good eating for sure.

Carl standing behind our catch. A typical tail gate fish catch picture for Carl. Love to have his job, right.

Billbob doing the four fish hold made famous by Crappie Pro. What absolute pigs!

If you have the time and are serious about catching some SLAB Crappie, you need to give Carl a shout. This is the perfect time of year:

Those fish are huge. If you never seen or caught one that big, c'mon down and get on the boat with Feelay. You will not regret it.

A couple of years ago, me and a buddy pulled up to Grenada landing not really knowing where to go fish, minnows or jigs, push or pull, or how deep, we were just excited to be there. We pulled to the side to get our boat ready to launch and Carl pulls up behind us to do the same. We got out "shooting the bull" like most folks do at the boat ramp. Carl asked where we were headed and we told him we didn't know. He told us to head to Redgrass area and we should be able to catch us a mess of fish. Carl was right, we ended up with a nice mess. I never got a chance to tell him thank you in person, but he sure made our day!

I have owned a lot of trucks over the years but, none of the tailgates looked like that. Mighty fine catch!

More than one of the saltwater guides here in southeast NC won't allow Banana Boat sunscreen on their boats. Must be something to the banana thing!
