As to my surprise at 5am was the wind advisory for the lakes area starting at 10am and lasting the remainder of the day. Whatever, I'm going!
Made a run to Fast Eddie's and was back Sportsman's and launched by 6am. Headed out to the main lake and it was relatively calm for having a wind advisory today.
Got set up with the cranks, and away we go. First two passes produced a Gasparoo that Chaunc would have liked, and then a fat slimer! I had started to wonder if my spot had begun to dry up, but I know it hadn't because littlemama and I fished it yesterday evening and caught 9 in 1.5 hours.
Finally, the first slab lit up one of the rods, and as I was reeling that one in another rod started loading up. Houston, we have located the fish.
Made some crank color changes, the sun finally broke out of the clouds and the feeshes started getting in the chow line!
Ended up with 17 nice feeshes on the day, and decided to head back in before the wind really got up and turned the main lake into a huge wave pool! Water temps were 79.0 this morning and had only come up a few tenths. Come on fall weather!!
