• Braid = Scissors and a Stick

I was going through some old posts about Braid and noticed more than one reference to always having a stick to pull braid so as not to get one of the nastiest cuts you ever experienced. I thought I would share how I make sure I have both a good pair of scissors, another necessity when using braid and my pulling stick. The scissors are a pair of Repala scissors designed especially for braid. They have a serrated edge which keeps the braid from just sliding down the blade as it will do with smooth edged ones. I picked mine up at a local outdoor store from a bucket on the checkout counter for less than $5. To make both the stick and the scissors easier to find in the tackle bag or on the deck of the boat I tied them together with a length of paracord. I actually have two sets as I have two tackle bags, one for crappie and one for bass.
