I fished with my brother today and we had a really great time. The water was about summer pool with just a little stain. Boat traffic was minimal and the wind wasn't too bad this morning, although it did increase as the day progressed. Water temp was 47-48 deg. All fish were caught casting jigs.
The first cast was a 10 1/2" black followed by about 20 other keepers from our first spot. The bite never really let up from there. My brother joked that they were suicidal around the 100th craap. They had the feed bags on preparing for winter! We culled about 30 and settled with our limit of 30. It was an amazing day!!
I weighed our 5 biggest fish on my wife's food scale just for fun and they were 4.2 lbs. (SNA)
I mentioned in my last report about how I wished my brother was there to experience how good the bite was. Well, he got to see it first hand and I'm grateful we got to spend an awesome day on the water together.
We've got some great opportunities in our state and winter time is one of my favorite times to take advantage of them. The grey drab of the trees against the dark green cedars was wintertime at its best for me.
Merry Christmas everyone!! Feeling that thump never gets old, no matter how warm or how cold!!
