Finally made it out Sunday, my Canadian friend is back for his winter stay.
So me & "coffeecup" headed out on a smooth calm morning in search of speckzilla.
We were surprised to find a mostly empty parking lot & the water levels up & water
flowing by with plenty of floaters.
The morning looked promising with a large cloud blocking the sun & plenty of fresh water
moving in to hopefully get the fish active.
We made our way through the "S" curves & onto an empty lake, it was almost an eerie feeling
no boats around, no noise just still air & fish popping the water all over. Started to wonder if we were in
the wrong place or if everyone else just wasn't fishing today.
Got all 10 rods out & away we went to find a slow bite, caught 17 fish total & had about 10
good eating sized fish. Around 10:30 I could not stand the heat any longer as I had been in the sun
the day before & my Canadian friend was melting. Back on the trailer by 11 & home at noon, cleaned the
fish we kept & ate some for dinner last night. Felt good to get out & can't wait to see some of you
fellars on the water but I sure hope it cools down a little, water temp was still above 82 degrees.
