• Chickamauga Lake report...mixed bag

Posting a combination report a little late this week. This report will include pics of green trashy fish so be forewarned. Deb and I did some driftin' and fishin' at the "Nuke" plant. We had a chance to fish there a couple of times during the week. We didn't get out until 11:00 am each day so it was good to be under the top of a pontoon.

We caught around 30 bass...20 catfish...and 20 crappie. The bass were average size...the blue cats a little above average - but no giants - a few nice channel cats ( the boat got slimed good ) and almost all of the crappie were keepers. We only caught a couple of white bass which was surprising. The big surprise was on our last trip when Deb caught a walleye...her first ! We've caught about every species at the towers over the years but never a walleye. Go Deb !

We caught most of our fish in 18-25 feet but some as deep as 50 feet. We used artificial lures and live bait. I caught a little of everything on a Heddon Sonar. All fish were released.

Muskrat, how were you fishing the Heddon sonar? Jigging, or trolling with it?
