Outdoorsmen are always looking for something that lasts a long time, be it rods, reels, lures or whatever. I’m here to tell you that if you’re looking for a cooler, then you should look no further than the YETI Tundra. The Tundra is the best heavy-duty cooler around; it’s a rugged, multi-purpose cooler that comes in a variety of sizes. From 35 quarts up to 350 quarts, you can’t find a cooler that compares to the durability and warranty that goes along with this cooler.
The Tundra is great for any outdoor purpose, I use mine for a variety of purposes, hunting, fishing, tailgating, boating, and camping. My 65-quart cooler serves as a great casting platform when I’m out on the lake, I can see fish at a higher angle allowing me to make better spot casts. I’ve never seen any cooler that was made to last and hold ice longer.
During our crappie tournaments, I use the Tundra as a live well. It gets extremely hot in the south where we fish; my boat live wells are not insulated. If I pump lake water into them in the early morning, the water gets a lot hotter than the surface water. Hot water retains very little oxygen, if you fill the Tundra early morning with cool water, it will hold water a lot cooler thus keeping your fish in great shape.
Finally, a word of warning, if you ask police what the number one thing that is stolen from outdoorsmen, they would have to say their high-end coolers; leaving a $300+ cooler unsecured on the back of a pickup or in an unattended boat is asking for trouble. YETI sells a Security Cable Lock and Bracket that protects your investment. It’s the perfect investment from opportunistic thugs. If you don’t purchase the Cable Lock try the Locking Bracket and your cable or chain of your choice. If you choose, you can add a padlock to secure your valuable catch inside the cooler. Not a bad idea considering the amount of time and effort you expended to catch your fish or game.
YETI has a lot of confidence in their cooler’s durability, that’s why they offer a 5-year Limited Warranty against defects in materials ad workmanship. You would have to look hard to find a better warranty for any product on the market. Heck, my truck only came with 4 years.
