Remembering the good times

My mom & dad both took time to teach me crappie fishing but since mom could usually fish circles around dad, I stuck close to her!Mother passed in 2009 and dad in 2012 and I miss them both deeply but my 2 brother's & my sister can get together and have great laugh's remembering just silly stuff!

Here's one of me and my Dad's mother, Flossie Cox. She loved to fish and cook huge country style meals. She could put a big pot of purple hull peas or pinto beans on the table with some cornbread and fry some fish, deer steak, rabbit, or squirrel to go with it and it was ON! Miss her tremendously since she passed in 1996 at the age of 87. Enjoyed life on her south Arkansas farm right up until the end.

Here's one of two of my Mom's older brothers, Bill Stratton (holding this 3 lb. crappie) and Doc Stratton standing behind. These two men were excellent fishermen and were a real hoot to be around. They always had some funny story to tell. Both have passed on and I miss them and think of them often, especially when I retell some of their stories.......some of which are XXX rated.

Here's one of me and Mr. T. He was my buddy back in the early 80s. That cat slept with me every night and he loved to help clean fish! "T" has been gone since 1985, but I'll always remember my feline friend. GTT
