I was able to get my bride of 46 years in the boat with me today. After 11 days of rain it was good to be on the lake. Tricia had only fished with me once before. We went one Saturday last spring and only caught 3 fish. She is one of those who likes fishing "ok" as long as the fish are biting. She would rather be tending her garden. We put in at Lick Creek at 7:30 and fished until 3:00. The water temperature ranged between 70-74. We did not catch many fish but we did catch some quality fish. In the picture she is holding her first keeper Crappie a nice 13 incher. We pushed minnows through the woods. We kept 5 at our first stop and then went looking more fish. We didn't find anything more promising and came back to where we started and caught 5 more. It was a good day. All of you who have taken a beginner fishing know that it is frustrating to have to tell a novice when they are getting bit. "FOURTH ROD ON THE RIGHT! YOUR OTHER RIGHT!
I can't say much though. Years ago in our first house, the bathroom door was dragging on the carpet. I took it down to cut one inch off the bottom with my new skill saw. I drew a line and prepared to cut. Tricia said, you are cutting the right end off aren't you? $&#@ YES I said. I made my cut and hung the door back up. At that point I realized I had a 1 inch gap at the top and the door still drug the carpet. Over the years I have built a garage, finished a basement and built a very nice deck. However, I have never lived down the bathroom door story. I can't say much about her fishing.
