With my back still in knots, I thought I would go and pull some cranks. I thought I would take it easy and just enjoy the morning with some lines out of the back of the boat. My back was going to hurt no matter what I was doing, so might as well be fishing. I scanned some stake beds and never picked up the crankbait rods. Used the little short rod with 4lb line and Started out with 1/16th ounce black and chart crappie magnets when the light was low and then switched to purple and chartruse. Ended the morning with blue and chartruse hot grub. All fish in 17-20' fow with water temp at 85 degrees. Caught 32 total 6 of which were short. Also caught 3 largemouth. Took a few pics and released all fish. Some bites were very aggressive and others were very light. I quit at 1030, back couldn't take it any more. Beautiful morning to be out, nice and cool early. Never saw another crappie fisherman....one of my favorite times of the year to fish...the dog days.
