    Not a crappie but...

This year is the first year that my youngest has really seemed to enjoy fishing. He's been crappie fishing with me a few times before but, he just can't hold out for very long. After about 30 min he's ready to ride in the boat. I've posted on here a few times about the bream we have been chasing, not trying to brag, but I'm just trying to keep him interested. He thinks its really cool to see himself on the computer.

Anyway, we went again this weekend and I got schooled by a 5 yr old. He only caught 3 and I only caught 2 but he had some ringers. His standard MO is reel em up to the bobber hits the end of his pole and walk backwards and drag em up on the bank. lol. The tackle box in this picture is 11''.

As I write this, I'm scared to add up all the gear I have to fish for crappie and those that know me, know that I really love to crappie fish.... But some days nothing beats just two guys walking down a dirt road with two poles, one tackle box, a bucket of crickets, and a dog, sliding through a barbwire fence and easing down to a old farm pond....especially, if one of them is your boy.

Son, I know you can't read yet, but when you can, if its possible for you to ever go back and read this thread, I want you to know that these are some of the best days of my life.....

Quick, How bout flipping these pics for me, I still can't figure out why it does this. Computer won't let me rotate them.

Nice job there Dad. He can't beat ya if ya don't take the time to take him. My kids are just about grown now and kids do grow up, BUT they also remember! I remember my dad taking me when I was little.....to our old farm pond just like you described, down an old grown up trail through the woods just past an old barbed wire fence. Them big old bluegills were always waiting and always bit! I'll bet they're still there now.

Just like Andy and Opie. Thanks for the post and dang good bluegills caught by an expert. Watch him close, Dad, and you'll become an expert too. GTT

It's all about the connection. Unfortunately, the Lord didn't trust me with a son. You are rich beyond measure. Treasure those moments in time . Love them with all your might.
