    I took my step-dad out "slabing" today!

    The bite was ON for the first 20 minutes and then died!!! Caught em in 4 fow. Water temp was 49-51 degrees! We had a blast! These crappie dunked the pole and fought like bass!!!

    We also caught 6-8 bass as well! It was a great day with a great man! I owe most of the success in my life to this man! I love him so much!







    We both need some tips for the 4-fish hold! So help please! Lol

      I see in the picture the water is slightly stained, how long are the poles you are using in that shallow water? I use 12 footers but am mostly fishing in 10+ fow. Have been told 14 to 16 footers for shallow.

      14 footers. Water is slightly stained. Most of the water I have fished so far has been really shallow and I personally think that 14 footers are a bare minimum. But with water deeper than about 10 feet rod length doesn't matter near as much.

      Me and my Dad used to fish 3 to 4 times a week together. Great memories. Spend as much time with him as you can as the days are not promised. I sill hear my Dad giving advise every time I go. Love it.
