After all the rain we were pounded with last week I figure in my little head poverty was my best bet to do some catchin...
Check wind forecast Sunday night before bed, it says 5-10 ene easing up later in the day.
Get up Monday and head straight out the door without checking wind again. As I drive by courthouse square I see the flag twisting in the breeze, dats not good. When I make it to the south ramp it looks like an episode of deadliest catch, almost went home but thought once I crossed the lake it wouldn't be that bad were I was going. This is how it looked heading out and yes I was the only dummy out there.
Ended up catching 3 crappie and 6 catfish in about 4 hrs. The wind layed down as the morning went on so the trip back across wasn't as bad.
Two of the fish from yesterday.
Even though fishing yesterday was bad I had time to kill so I talked 40watt into going
with me. Wind was calm today. Fishing was still slow though. Ended up with 7 perch and 20 cats today in about 4.5 hrs. All on jigs. I've never caught catfish like this on straight jigs before. May be time to retune my jigs....
Had the lake to myself yesterday and only 3 boats out today.
Madison posing with the big fish 2lb 1oz and 5watt in the background, gonna have to give her lessons on fish posing. 10watt was too busy watching ninja turtles to do any eye poking.
