• Lake Norman Stripers

It was sloppy first thing in the morning with heavy drizzle/rain just enough to cut through your close and miserable, but the fish didn't seem to mind.

Friend was quick to jump on the offer as he was in town for the week, so off we went. had boat in the water at sunrise, bout out at sunset. nice full day.

Caught fish trolling, and casting under birds. was pretty wide open for about an hour. caught in the the neighborhood of 20 striper/hybrids, lots of doubles on the troll, and as always a pile of bass (more bass than striper/hybrids under the birds).

Played mostly catch and release. kept 3 striper and 2 fat hybrids for dinner for the both of us. All the striper were in the 7-8lb range, with us releasing about a 9 1/2 lber.....again bait so thick you could walk on it at the right places.

    Water temp widespread 53-55 degrees.

A few more hard cold snaps (I'm talking lows in the 20s) and Norman will be on and the fish easier to find!!
