Got up early Friday morning and headed out to Toronto to dip some trees. On the water at 630 went to Manns cove started dipin. Caught a few dinks in trees in 16fow, moved on up to a creek channel found some trees in 4 fow on break to 6. Caught some more dinks and two fish over 13. Most have spooked them as we fished for another 30 minutes did not get a bite.
Went looking for some similar water but did not have any luck. Went back to same spot we caught fish caught two around 10 and another 13 and a 12. Then nothing. So decided to go try the river.
Okay so put in at the river water looked great shad hitting top of water. Looks like game on. tried about 20 brush piles without a bite. We slide up to one submerged log with a wide fork, dropped my minnow down and wham, nice 12 inch fish. We eased around this pile for awhile caught one more 13, a 12 and a 14.5 and a couple of dinks. Then the bite was off again. Tried to find another pile that held fish but not luck, finally decided to call it a day at 1500. The pile we caught the last fish on was on a break from 3fow to 8 fow. All fish were right in pile. Using 20 power pro with light wire hook so hanging up not a problem except loosing the minnow. All fish caught using 1/16 oz light wire jig head with a minnow hooked in mouth. Except the 14.5 and one of the 13 which was caught on a 2 inch white/char tube jig with nibble.
