• Good day at the new lake

We needed a stress free, easy going, no worries kind of day so we headed for the new lake just south of Huntingdon. This is just the second year this 1000 acre lake has been open and it was our first trip. It was nice and calm with just a light breeze and only 3 or 4 other boats on the lake. Paul caught the first fish - a pretty little bream.

There was just enough breeze blowing to keep it comfortable. The birds and frogs and a rooster provided the soundtrack for the day. It really is a pretty lake.

We headed for the other end, which is all a no-wake area so the lake lice don't mess with your fishing. We found a good spot and started catching crappie like crazy. I was catching on all 4 rods two at a time. Of course, they were all about 9 inches, but what a blast! Every fish we caught looked healthy and the colors were really vibrant. I was out catching Paul 3 to 1 til he figured out he had put me right in the middle of them and himself just on the edge.

Sure had a good time and enjoyed being with my sweetie.

Last stop and pic before loading up.

      Nice healthy looking fish!
What is the name of the lake and where is it located?
I might try and head out one day!

I think they officially call it the "Carroll County 1000 acre Recreational Lake" not to be confused with "Carroll County Lake." It's just a few miles south of Huntingdon, TN on Hwy 70. Cane Pole said they're hoping to build a campground and marina in the future.
