Another tough tournament, not because of the weather, but because of high muddy water in much of the lake due to the storms last week. Behms was chocolate milk, Harmon's not much better. And for some reason, the bite today was much tougher than yesterday.
Regardless, 11 teams showed up to fish and 4-5 of them started in the same area and big fish of the day did come from there, but it wasn't long until teams started moving around. Best fish seemed to come from wood, but some teams filled their limits on pontoons and lifts. Results:
Eymer and Owen won it all with a weight of 5.58 pounds, taking home $360.
Frank Dimos and Bill Hora took 2nd place with a weight of 5.36 pounds. They made $240 and their big fish was .80 pounds.
August and Bollenbacher won big fish at .92 pounds, their first keeper of the day and a great way to start.
Tough day all around and I'm just plain worn out. We never stopped moving, trying to find bigger fish, and I assume the other teams did as well, but the pigs just weren't there for us today.
Next stop--Deer Creek on May 11th!!
What a difference a day, week, can make on that lake. Last weekends crappie tourney took 7.7 lbs to win and on Sunday we had BIG crappies just fun fishing. One week later you get a very tough day on the water... Congrats to all the teams that fished it, wish you would of had more show up.
Congrats to winners!
