Here's how to keep livers on the hook at least until they are in the water. Put the liver on a hook and freeze it like that. I take an old ice tray and do a full tray of em. Spray it with cooking spray first so it pops out easily. They thaw very quickly in the water.

Use ivory soap its made from animal fat. to soften it wrap it in a wet washrag then wrap that in aluminum foil and put in oven for about 20 to 30 min it will soften it so you can cut it in chunks and put it on a hook. dont use to much water on washrag and watch it in oven when it gets soft or it will just melt if to a glob.

shad by far in lakes works bream too
but heres one not said steak from a steak bisket from miss winters lol you will neaver belive how well that will out fish about anything in a pond

gold fish, blue gill, shad sides, shrimp, you name we use it but the one bait that will guarantee us a fish no matter what is HOTDOGS sprayed with WD-40........once that WD-40 is on there it works magic.

i could be wrong but i believe the main ingredient in WD-40 is fish oil, so i believe that is what gets those channels to bite

oh yeah and the cheaper the hotdogs the better. something about the casing makes them stick to the hook
