Thread: A Great White Shark .....in FRESHWATER ?

If you don't mind me asking...are you just fishing heavy tackle to catch them dudes? I can fish the Arkansas river nearby here, but have never been able to bring in big fish like that. What kinda bait catches them guys?

Also, how in the heck do you filet a fish that big? My knife blades wouldn't even go halfway through that dude...I have a hard enough time filetting 7 and 8 pounders...

Nope not at all, we were crappie fishing and I always take a small cat rod with me, just a medium action 6 foot with an abu garcia 5000 reel spooled with 12 pound test.......cut bait works best (shad). That day I just happned to get a real nice fish and medium tackle if you call it that !! I have never kept a fish to eat over 5 pounds, all others are released...........



I have caught them on lighter tackle tho on purpose !!
