Marshmello's we used years ago to get bait off the bottom fishing for trout in Western Montana; worked great. Well Channel Cats it sound's like are sometimes caught on some kind of bobber rig that holds the bait off the bottom. I wonder why using marshmello's instrad of the bobber wouldn't work? Then I got to thinking and why not use Power Bait to float the bait? I've got a bunch of old trout power bait from years ago and it's still good. Wonder how it would work? Opened a jar and it smell's strongly like fish! Gonna have to try it next trip out. Stuff float's like a cork!

I have just recently read an article about the abilities of catfish homing in on sound and where one guy was using an old fashioned red and white bobber. These he prepared by drilling a small hole into the float then inserting a few #6 shot lead pellets then sealing with a bit of tape and crazy glue. This he placed on the leader between the bait and a pegged slip bobber. I have been entertaining the idea of giving it a try but will probably opt for a drop of silicone as opposed to the tape and glue.
